Learn how to cancel these agreements in seven easy steps!

Having trouble figuring out how to cancel a billing agreement with PayPal? You’re not the only one. The Paypal platform makes it easy to set up recurring payments and billing agreements with merchants.

However, canceling these agreements can be tricky. In this article, we talk about how to cancel a PayPal billing agreement in seven easy-to-follow steps.

What is a PayPal Billing Agreement?

Many websites and web services including online stores provide the option to pay with PayPal. When you select PayPal as the payment option for those sites a PayPal billing agreement is created automatically.

While some agreements are valid, other billing agreements may be invalid due to signing up in error for a subscription service (or canceling a service without canceling your billing agreement.)

People often find themselves stuck in a billing agreement after agreeing to a free trial for a product or service. If you forget to cancel your PayPal billing agreement at the end of a free trial, your payment method on file will continue to bill until it’s canceled.

If you don’t remember to cancel a billing agreement with a vendor, this billing agreement will go on indefinitely until it’s canceled.
