In this case, there’s no surprise that many of us are stressed-out, overwhelmed, confused, burned-out, and just plain ready to quit!

7 Strategies for staying motivated – When you want to quit 

 

 

 

#1. Take a break 

It may seem counterproductive to take a break in order to avoid quitting, but it does actually work! The pace of life can feel overwhelming. If keeping up with the events of everyday life are weighing heavily on you — it’s okay to take a break. The consequences of not taking a break can be far greater than the consequences of being off schedule. We’ve had a lot to consider in the last few months. Taking a break is a simple way to give your mind and body time to catch up. 

#2. Remember why you started 

Important breakthroughs often happen when we feel like we want to quit the most. When you start feeling like you want to give up, close your eyes and remember why you started in the beginning. Remember when you started out on your latest venture or project, what goals and expectations did you have set for yourself? How far have you come from where you started? How close are you to achieving your goals? You may be closer than you think. Instead of quitting, follow the advice from step one and take a break instead.

#3. Set Smaller Goals 

When we set long-term goals for enormous projects like planning a wedding, buying a home, or opening a business, the magnitude of what we have to do to complete the project can send you into a tailspin. Good project managers and business leaders understand the importance of setting small goals to keep from getting overwhelmed. It may surprise you to see how quickly small efforts turn into a completed project.  

#4. Try Something New Everyday 

Keep your mind fresh and ward off boredom by trying something new every day. You don’t have to take on something large or unreasonable, start small by changing what you watch on television, picking up a book if you’ve stopped reading, or trying a new hairstyle. Making small changes in your everyday life can help break up monotony and boredom while giving you something new to look forward to each day.

 

#5. Eat Healthy 

It’s hard to think clearly or make good decisions when your mind is cluttered with too much information. Start cleaning up your thoughts by cleaning up your diet. Make sure you’re getting a healthy amount of water, fruits, and vegetables to keep your mind and body functioning at optimum capacity. #6. Exercise 

With so much negative energy floating around, it’s easy to get stuck and feel weighed down. Relieve stress and anxiety by getting regular exercise. #7. Talk to a Therapist 

If you’ve tried everything you can think of and you still can’t seem to pull yourself out of the dumps — talk to a professional. A licensed counselor or therapist can help you get to the root of what’s causing you to feel you want to quit. They can also provide viable solutions for helping you get “unstuck.” The good news is that even during the pandemic, affordable therapy options are available by using apps like BetterHelp, TalkSpace, and Doctor On Demand.
